Punjab offers special chance to get cash subsidy for industrial units: Arora

CHANDIGARH: With the commitment to fulfill its promise, Punjab Government has offered a special chance to General Industrial Units and Export Oriented Units (EOUs) to claim their sanctioned subsidy of Investment Incentive/Capital Subsidy under various policies announced from time to time.

Disclosing this here today Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Mr. Sunder Sham Arora said that some industrial units missed the chance to claim the sanctioned subsidy under various Industrial policies due to its closure or for any other reasons, such units are being given special chance to file their claim of the subsidy.

Mr. Arora said that such eligible industrial units of Punjab can claim their sanctioned subsidy request after checking their name in the waiting list published by the department on the website pbindustries.gov.in and send it on the e-mail ID of the department: br.incentive@gmail.com or through concerned General Manager of District Industries Centers. He said that the subsidy distribution to the applying units would be considered according to the waiting list prepared by the Department. He said that the state government had allocated Rs. 25 crore for these closed units in the current financial year according to their eligibility and entitlement but many of these units could not be traced as the existing address of the units could not be ascertained.

The Industries Minister further said that requisite approval has been obtained from the Punjab Cabinet for the release of sanctioned subsidy to these units. He said that guidelines have been laid down for release of sanctioned cash subsidy to the closed and sold units on the basis of merit. He said that out of the total 1500 closed units, the state government has decided the cases of the first 400 units on the basis of seniority, out of which 123 eligible units have been allotted the sanctioned amount of subsidy.

It is pertinent to mention that during the year 2017, about 1500 closed units of the state have arrears in tune of Rs. 100 crore. In view of the efforts and promises made by the state government from time to time, a subsidy of about Rs. 30 crore has been disbursed since 2017 and payments have been made to around 500 units.
